Already in the first decades of the 15th century, the House of Valois-Burgundy skillfully exploited the weakened position of the House of Luxembourg to assert its power in Luxembourg. However, Philip the Good only finally took Luxembourg after the military conquest of the duchy in 1443. Since then, the Burgundian princes and their Habsburg successors showed great political sensitivity to ensure the integration of the duchy.
Starting from the Lëtzebuerg City Museum, this guided tour invites you to discover in the city the vehicles of the symbolic policies established by the Burgundian and Habsburg princes in Luxembourg.
