During this visit Evamarie Bange, City archivist, will reveal unusual documents, which witness the history of the City of Luxembourg. This series of meetings is a unique opportunity to discover originals from the municipal archive collections as well as the fascinating stories behind the ancient writings.

Judges, executioners and gallows in the City of Luxembourg.

Hardly any event in the early modern period provided the archives of the City of Luxembourg with as many documents as the year 1673, when the City was granted the privilege of imposing the death penalty.
