During 1940-1944, the occupier entertained ambitious plans for the city of Luxembourg, wanting to transform it into a “German cultural bastion of the West”. Particular attention was devoted to the construction of a new theater, the symbol of the occupier’s cultural policy aiming at germanising the people.
