The workshop begins with an interactive session on emotional and sexual education, led by experienced facilitators from Planning Familial. This first part focuses on the menstrual cycle, bodily changes during puberty, as well as the diverse experiences and issues linked to health and equality. The discussions take place in a welcoming, inclusive environment that respects all identities.
The second part takes place in the exhibition Et Leeft. Through historical objects, testimonies, artistic works and audiovisual documents, the pupils discover the history of menstruation, the taboos surrounding it, the evolution of menstrual products since the 19th century, as well as contemporary debates around period poverty and the recognition of menstruation in the public space.
This interaction addresses a universal topic that is still all too often stigmatised, while promoting critical thinking, social reflection and respect for oneself and others in young people.
