Robert Reuter attempts to examine and illuminate the phenomenon of "conspiracy theories" with the help of evolutionary theory. He assumes that humans, by nature, cannot help but develop theories about the world, because humans have no direct access to reality. These subjective theories are not always necessarily rational and often do not correspond to the current state of scientific research. This can also give rise to conspiracy theories, which cannot always be deconstructed so easily.
