Water is an integral part of everyday life. In Luxembourg, it serves as a vital resource, a means of transport, and a place of leisure, while at times also shaping natural boundaries. Yet, water can also pose risks as it can bring floods, disease, and other dangers. It is both life-sustaining and an unpredictable force.

On this walk, we will discover how water has shaped the city’s history. In what ways did it benefit the inhabitants? What challenges did it present? Trace its paths through time and explore the essential role it has played in shaping the city as we know it today.
