The exhibition “The Luxembourgish language(s)” invites visitors to engage with language and languages. The title is purposefully ambiguous and is meant to mirror the complex language situation in Luxembourg.
The exhibition engages, among others, with the following topics: multilingualism, language varieties, historical aspects, language evolution, as well as the role of Luxembourgish in literature and the media. More specifically, the following aspects are highlighted throughout three modules:
• Multilingualism in Luxembourg
• What is Luxembourgish and how does the language function today?
• How is a language made?
The exhibition features both audiovisual as well as participatory elements through which visitors can engage in interactive activities with their smartphone.

The exhibition, designed by the Zenter fir d’Lëtzebuerger Sprooch, will be shown on level 0 of the Lëtzebuerg City Museum as part of the exhibition “Babel heureuse ?”. Admission to the exhibition is free.
The exhibition is in four languages: LU, DE, FR, EN.
