Bach in the Subways is a project of a New York musician who began playing J. S. Bach's cello suites in New York subway stations in 2010 to introduce classical music to a wide audience. He refused to give money and instead distributed postcards explaining his intentions. In 2011, he invited colleagues to participate in this campaign on a voluntary and free basis. In 2017, Bach in the metro expanded to 27 countries in North, Central and South America, Asia, Australia and Europe.

On the initiative of Rosch Mirkes (Ensemble Ad Libitum) and in collaboration with INECC Luxembourg, Bach in the Subways celebrated its premiere in 2018 in Luxembourg. The first edition with nine ensembles and four solo musicians, 15 concerts took place in the city centre in six different locations. This year, on 21.03.2019, the public will once again attend "mini-concerts" that will take place in different places in the city centre, such as the Lëtzebuerg City Museum or Villa Vauban.

Please find information about the concerts in the attached PDF.
