The 2027 exhibition at the Lëtzebuerg City Museum will explore migration as an essential and enduring component of the history of the Grand Duchy’s capital. Far from being a recent phenomenon, migration has shaped the city over the centuries. Through objects, documents, and testimonies, the exhibition will highlight the diversity of migratory trajectories.
We tell your story! Your migration objects in trusted museum care
As part of the exhibition preparations, the Lëtzebuerg City Museum is launching a major call for objects and documents related to migration and multicultural life in the capital.
Who can take part?
Everyone with a story to tell!
- Individuals, families, businesses, restaurants, bars, associations linked to immigration or foreign cultures, living or working in Luxembourg City.
- Did you come here as a student, expatriate, refugee, worker, or for family reasons? Whether you arrived yesterday or decades ago – or if you’re a descendant of immigrants – your memory matters!
What are we looking for?
Objects and documents that tell your migration story – or that of your family:
- Arrival in Luxembourg (travel, paperwork, challenges)
- Integration (housing, education, languages)
- Work life (all sectors, businesses, successes, struggles)
- Identity and culture (community life, traditions, family, religion, sports, music, ties to your country of origin, cooking)
