The Lëtzebuerg City Museum is a museum that deals with subjects that are relevant to the city of Luxembourg and its population. Its mission is based on three pillars:

- to collect, conserve, study and exhibit the tangible and intangible heritage of the city and its inhabitants;
- to tell the story of the city, its territory and its population, from the origins in the 10th century to the present day, by placing it in a national and transnational context;
- to be a place of information, reflection and debate on socio-cultural issues of concern to citizens and urban society today.

The Lëtzebuerg City Museum attaches great importance to public participation and digital mediation. The museum aims to be an accessible place where visitors of all ages and backgrounds can experience a connection between the past and the present.
