This immersion will be followed by a captivating interactive workshop, specially designed and run in the museum's pedagogical room.
The three themes selected - The Art of the Table -, Food Waste and Conscious eating - will be approached from a multicultural perspective and with an eye to the world. This approach provides an opportunity for rich exchanges between participants from different cultural backgrounds.
08.02: DINING BEYOND BORDERS: AN INTERCULTURAL - ART OF THE TABLE - WORKSHOP
Gathered around the table, we often find ourselves in a moment of sheer happiness. The dining table transcends its functional role as a mere platform for food; it becomes a space where ideas are shared, laughter resounds, love blossoms, and business deals unfold. Whether
it's a special occasion or an impromptu gathering, a dinner is not just a quick bite to curb hunger; it's a true art, a communal experience with cherished companions. In our workshop, we will delve into the rich tapestry of diverse cultural norms, traditions, and etiquettes associated with dining and table arrangements across different societies.
28.03: FROM LEFT OVERS TO COOL MEALS: HOW CULTURE CAN INFLUENCE HOW WE DEAL WITH THE REMAINS OF OUR MEALS
Leftovers are not just remnants of a meal; they are portals to cultural traditions, resourcefulness, and sustainability. By embracing and appreciating the value of leftovers, we contribute to a global conversation on mindful consumption and reducing food waste.
The participants will engage in a hands-on activity where they can creatively transform their own leftovers and share how their culture view and utilize leftovers in their culinary practices. Participants will be encouraged to share personal anecdotes or family stories related to leftover meals traditional dishes that have evolved from the concept of using leftovers. Join us in this delightful journey as we savour the intercultural flavours hidden within our fridges and celebrate the beauty of culinary diversity!
25.04: FROM THE BEAN-TO-BAR: A CONSCIOUS CHOCOLATE TASTING TOUR ACROSS CULTURES
This chocolate tasting tour aims to not only delight the taste buds but also raise awareness about the cultural, ethical, and environmental dimensions of chocolate production. Participants will leave with a newfound appreciation for chocolate and a commitment to making conscious choices in their chocolate preferences. Participants will be exploring the cultural origins and influences of different chocolate varieties. Embracing the diversity of chocolate traditions around the world they will be invited to savour each bite mindfully. Being aware of the sensory experience, including the taste, texture, and aroma of chocolate. The activity coordinated by Cooltur is animated by BLUNT! Blunt is a purveyor of bean-to-bar chocolate and direct-trade cacao based in Luxembourg. Founded on the belief that quality is achieved through a combination of sustainability, ethics, and love, they will show us the joy of true chocolate through a conscious eating experience.
